The Baja California Sur Expedition is a guided off-road motorcycle adventure around the southern half of the Baja peninsula in Mexico.
It includes a detailed itinerary, covering approximately 860 miles over seven riding days, at an intermediate difficulty level.
Originating in the beautiful destination city of Cabo San Lucas, this loop ride brings us as far north as the historic city of Loreto, designated a Pueblos Magicos for its 325 year history, yet still maintaining the essence of its past. Additional stops include La Paz, Constitución, Puerto San Carlos, and Todos Santos.
This tour is fully supported with experienced local guides, a chase vehicle, motorcycles, and lodging. Ride along dramatic coastlines, visit historic Jesuit misions, and enjoy delicious Mexican cuisine & fresh seafood.
The adventure awaits you!
Day 1 Fly into San Jose Del Cabo (SJD) Airport
Arriving into the San Jose Del Cabo Airport (SJD), check into your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner to reunite with old and new friends.
Day 2 San Jose Del Cabo to La Paz (225 Kilometers / 140 Miles)
Get acquainted with your motorcycle and begin an exciting journey, leaving the bustling city of San Jose del Cabo, up the pristine East Cape, riding along the beaches on the Gulf of California. Pass through Cabo Pulmo National Park, Los Barriles and over the mountains to enter the peaceful city of La Paz.
Day 3 La Paz to Ciudad Constitución (280 Kilometers / 175 Miles)
Begin your day early riding north out of La Paz, continuing up the Gulf of California past quaint fishing villages and emerald waters. In San Evaristo, we turn inland to cross over the mountains and visit Mision San Luis Gonzaga, built in 1740, then descend into the valle’s and ranchos surrounding the bustling town of Constitucion.
Day 4 Ciudad Constitution to Loreto (200 Kilometers / 125 Miles)
Leave the city behind you and traverse into the heart of the Baja Peninsula, through jagged mountains, cactus forests, and arroyos. We arrive at Agua Verde; remote, unadulterated, truly spectacular. Enjoy a dip into the crystal waters as pelicans and sea birds soar around you; climb out of the bahia up a steep grade until we reach the highway that leads us to the historic city of Loreto on the bay, a Pueblo Magico.
Day 5 Loreto free day
Enjoy a day at your leisure, the choice is yours in this beautiful historic town; relax in a hammock, take a walk along the shores of Loreto Bay, or join an ocean safari to see the marine animals who call this place home.
Day 6 Loreto to San Carlos (230 Kilometers / 145 Miles)
Bid farewell to the Gulf of California and head up the twisty highway to the mountain village and Jesuit Mision of San Javier, built 1710. Take a stroll around the village on cobblestone streets and through gardens surrounded by orchards, towering mountains and jagged peaks. Leave the pavement and descend towards the Pacific Ocean to the fishing village of Puerto San Carlos. You’ll be greeted by the cooler temperatures of Magdalena Bay and a Pacific sunset while enjoying a delicious seafood dinner prepared specially for our group.
Day 7 San Carlos to La Paz (250 Kilometers / 150 Miles)
Our journey turns southbound along the Pacific Ocean, riding along the coast and on parts of the infamous Baja 1000 race course. Rise out of the coastal shores to the mesas overlooking the city and bay of La Paz, crossing over the peninsula once again to the Gulf of California.
Day 8 La Paz to San Jose Del Cabo (200 Kilometers / 125 Miles)
The final day of riding takes us back through the desert into groves of towering Cardon Cactus until we reach the Pacific coast and enter the quaint town of Todos Santos. Visit the landmark Hotel California named after “The Eagles” song, but don’t get stuck there as we still have to make it to Cabo San Lucas to complete our 900 mile tour of Baja California Sur! Enjoy the final night’s dinner together as we bid farewell, until next time.
